Year 10 Transitions Forum and Reflection Day

During Week 10 of Term 2, our Year 10 students attended their 2023 Transitions Forum.

During Week 10 of Term 2, our Year 10 students attended their 2023 Transitions Forum. This was an important week for Year 10 as students considered how to make decisions, reflected on what is important in life, prepared for senior study, and much more.

Throughout the week the students participated in ‘Day of Hope’ on Monday which was a full day presentation with Glenn Gerreyn from the Hopeful Institute, Sydney. He concentrated on goals and motivation and had students on the edge of their seats with his inspirational words.

On Tuesday, students participated in presentations on IB Diploma Programme/BSSS Program, University degree pre-requisites and recommendations, and extra- curricular academic activities available in Senior College. University visits were held on Wednesday with students visiting two institutions of their choice. Students attended visits to Canberra Institute of Technology, Australian National University, Australian Catholic University, University of Canberra and ADFA.

Thursday was a day for the students to work independently on their IB MYP Personal Project.

On Friday, the final day of the forum, students participated in their Year 10 Reflection Day. The reflection day was designed to encourage students to be open to developing their own personal relationships with each other and with Jesus and to further explore their faith in a fun and friendly environment. The retreat theme was “Fidelitas” meaning Loyalty and faithfulness in Latin. Through a variety of talks, reflections and practical workshops, students explored ideas around the importance of Fidelitas in their lives, including friendships, family relationships and other areas of life.

We hope all our Year 10 students found the week enjoyable and rewarding.
