CASE Junior Oceans Program Update

The group is now going to Fitzroy Island for more amazing experiences!

Our CASE Junior Oceans group have enjoyed lots of wonderful activities over the last few days with pool buddy safety training to prepare for their upcoming snorkeling. The group learnt important hand signals and had some fun racing each other. They also headed down to Pratton Park to learn about how we use transects and quadrats in ecology and helped to collect microplastics in the beach sand for further research at Griffith University. The group learnt that each year we eat the equivalent of a credit card in plastic! They also went to Main Beach, where they learnt how to surf and played Bach volleyball and cricket. An added bonus was that this part of the beach was a dog beach so the group made a lot of new furry friends! After shopping at the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, they went to the Richmond vs Suns match at the Metricon Stadium and were featured on TV at half-time! The group is now going to Fitzroy Island for more amazing experiences!
