On 7 March 2018, twelve senior students participated in our very first Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzClo). OzClo is contest for high school students that combines computational thinking and linguistics, challenging them to develop their own strategies for solving problems in fascinating real languages. We are very pleased that Merici was able to field three teams of Year 11 and 12 students in this year’s competition.
We achieved excellent results in our first attempt in this competition with two teams awarded Gold Certificate and another team Silver Certificate.
We congratulate the following girls for their effort:
Team 1 (Gold Certificate): Clare Molony, Japneet Kaur, Lauren Solomon, Rosalie Carter
Team 2 (Gold Certificate): Jade Esler, Kaitlin McClory, Rosemary Zielinski, Theresa Carlton
Team 3 (Bronze Certificate): Anna Carstens, Erin Smart, Isabella Shaw, Mae Cheng
