Merici College has always put our girls at the heart of everything we do. Merici College congratulates Rosemary Zielinski, Year 12 2019 on her exemplary academic achievements. Rosemary has been awarded the BSSS Academic Achievement Award, the Merici College DUX Award and has achieved the Highest ATAR in the ACT scoring 99.95.
We congratulate the following students who received an award at the 2019 BSSS Recognition of Excellence Ceremony today. The BSSS Recognition of Excellence Ceremony is a prestigious award ceremony in December by the BSSS. 94 students received their Year 12 ACT Senior Secondary Certificate. 66 students completed a Tertiary Package and received an ATAR. 28 students completed Accredited Packages, which included Vocational qualifications.

We congratulate a number of girls from Merici who competed (rowing for Capital Lakes) at the rowing NSW Sprint Championship on Sunday, 8 December. The Merici girls who competed were: Charlotte Ryan, Emma Kuchel, Ella Horn, Niahm Blake and Pippa Gray.
The girls have been training very hard and all performed very well at the Regatta.

Today we gather to celebrate the end of Year 10 and prepare to embark on the next stage in your daughter’s educational journey. We also take this opportunity to recognise their successes, both academically and more broadly in their contributions to many aspects of the life and community of Merici College.
We take this time to thank the parents and carers for their support and commitment. I also thank the teachers for the exceptional learning opportunities and guidance they provide. And to give thanks for each student in this Year 10 cohort.
Our community celebrated Advent on Thursday 5 December with a very special Mass. We were very honoured to welcome our Celebrant, Fr Emil Milat from the Central Canberra parishes and Sr Genny Ryan, one of our Ursuline Sisters whose Order is instrumental to the foundation of Merici and who continue to inspire us today.
