Over the coming months Merici College will be running a campaign to raise awareness about domestic violence, together with Marist College. This campaign is called ‘Stop Fear Spread Hope’. Students will be invited to take photos that incorporate themes that have been outlined for this campaign and submit them as part of a competition.
Congratulations to all Merici College students and staff for participating in the 2017 Earth Hour. At the ACT Government’s Sustainable School Program Awards Ceremony on Thursday 18 May, Minister Shane Rattenbury MLA awarded our College 1st place for our participation in Earth Hour. In particular, Minister Rattenbury acknowledged our efforts in conserving energy and engaging the community through the various activities organised on the day. Specifically, our interactive art installation of a light globe, where students and staff alike pledged to reduce their ecological footprint.

Open Day 2017 was a wonderful opportunity to present a small snapshot of the exceptional work that our staff and students do at Merici College every day.

Congratulations to Taylah Ellems who represented Merici College and played in the Schools Sport ACT Golf Championship. She had a fantastic round with a score of 77 and won by one shot. Taylah is the ACT SSSA Golf Girls Champion for 2017. Fantastic achievement Taylah!
Chloe Richard represented Merici College in the Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition from 27-30 April. There were over 200 riders from across the state and riders competed in a number of disciplines including dressage, show jumping, cross-country, sporting and stock horse classes. Chloe’s horse Apache is very new to the competition arena so they faced many challenges over the 4 days with their favourite events being cross-country and show jumping. They came home with 3 second place ribbons and learnt a lot over the duration of the competition.

Congratulations to Reagan Minchin (Year 11) who competed on behalf of Merici at the Combined High Schools National Sailing Regatta held at Belmont, Lake Macquarie last week.
