Today marks the start of Catholic Schools Week (CSW) when we celebrate excellence in education. The theme for 2017 is Great Learning. Great Communities.

You sent forth your Son, Jesus as a symbol of hope for all people. He was a teacher whom we still look to today for inspiration and strength.
Thank you for the many people who have dedicated their lives to service in our Catholic Schools. Thank you for our founding Orders, priests and laypeople who have dedicated their lives to service in our school. Thank you for the teachers and administration staff who lead our school. Thank you for the parents who support and witness the importance of Catholic Education. Thank you for the students who work hard to develop their skills and knowledge.
Bless Merici College and the many people involved in our community. We particularly look to St Angela Merici as our guide and pray that our school be a place for those who seek to grow in faith and knowledge. In our College year of hope, may we unite to show support of all through our service to others.
