Outstanding Student Achievement at Combined High Schools National Sailing Regatta

Reagan was presented with the Perpetual Trophy for the CHS Laser 4.7 class.

Congratulations to Reagan Minchin (Year 11) who competed on behalf of Merici at the Combined High Schools National Sailing Regatta held at Belmont, Lake Macquarie last week.

Reagan sailed well all week in her Laser 4.7 against about 20 other Lasers, and on Saturday was in the lead of the Laser division, with the final race to decide if she would win or come second to her close friend Tegan (also from Canberra, sailing for Canberra College). The girls had an incredibly close last race with the lead swapping at least five time in the last 2 legs, but Reagan was determined, fought hard, and eventually prevailed.

Reagan was presented with the Perpetual Trophy for the CHS Laser 4.7 class. This was a big achievement as this regatta attracts sailors from all around the country and is the High Schools National Championship in Sailing.

Reagan is a member of the Marist/Merici Sailing Club through our Co-Curricular Program.

Congratulations Reagan, wishing you lots of success in your future endeavours.
