Principal's Reflection - Sustainability Presentation at Korero Conference, New Zealand

In the July school break, I was fortunate to present at Korero in Queenstown NZ. Korero is a Maori word for Conversation. This was a Conference like no other, there were no keynote speakers charging significant fees to sell us an idea or product, but rather was a series of workshops presented by Principals for Principals in the Catholic Secondary Schools sector. There were over 100 Principals from New Zealand and Australia in attendance.

2017 Semester 2 Mathematics@Merici

The Mathematics staff are excited to be back for Semester Two, 2017.

The semester has gotten off to a cracking start with over one hundred students from Years 7-12 participating in this year’s Australian Mathematics Competition. Held on the Thursday and Friday of Week 2, the competition challenged students with increasingly complex problems covering a broad range of mathematical disciplines. The girls came out of the competition buzzing about which questions were tricky, what they tried and what they would do differently in the future.

Memories@Merici with Heather Phillips (Class of 1998)

At our recent Grandparents Day, our community welcomed grandmothers, mothers and aunties who are ex-students of Merici College.  This presented us with the wonderful opportunity of interviewing ex-student Heather Phillips, aunty to current students Imogen and Niamh Blake.  Heather graduated from Merici College in 1998 and shared the following reflection.
