On Thursday 27 July, Merici College hosted the 'Vinnies Night Out – Reduce, Reuse, Restyle' event which was a concert-style fundraising event for the Vinnies Winter Appeal. The event included a line-up of some of Canberra’s best up-and-coming talent including: DJs Toucan Music and Bangers and Mash; Bands Jacob Jones Keogh and Salad Buoys; and dancers from Bom Funk Dance Studio. A sausage sizzle, raffles and a dress-up competition were also part of the evening’s activities. Catholic schools with students from Years 10-12 came along and supported this event. These schools included St Mary MacKillop College, Marist College, St Francis Xavier College, St Clare’s College, St Edmunds College, St John Paul College and Daramalan College. The theme of the night encouraged students to find an outfit from a second-hand clothing store (such as St Vincent de Paul’s, the Salvation Army, etc) and wear it to the event.
Thanks everyone for your support!
