Congratulations to Gabrielle Gregoire, Year 11 student who has been awarded the Western Australian Association of Teachers of Italian (WAATI) - Flight Centre Scholarship to attend an eight-week student exchange in Italy. Gabby will be undertaking this scholarship at the end of November this year. We are very proud of Gabby’s efforts and wish her continued success in her study of language.
"WAATI - West Australian Association of Teachers of Italian is the Australian arm of the Intercultura scholarships to and from Italy that Merici has been involved in since 2008. Through this program we personally place and select students from Italy into Merici families that would like a student for eight weeks in their home. This year we have three lovely students from Italy and will send an amazing six girls from Year 10 to spend their summer holidays in Italy, placed in an Italian school with an Italian family.Gabrielle Gregoire was fortunate enough to be shortlisted for a fully paid scholarship and is the first Merici student to win a WAATI Scholarship for full payment of the travel costs of her exchange.Gabrielle had to complete an application for the scholarship as well as participate in a video interview with the WAATI panel and scored very highly on all criteria.
