Principal’s Address
November 2023
Good morning everyone and how blessed are we to celebrate such a wondrous mass together. This morning we have marked the advent of Christ – we await, with hope and eagerness, His arrival as our saviour.
Thank you, Fr Emil, for leading us, in community, so beautifully.
Thank you to Ms Harrold -Carter who brought us together in community (as you have done so with great energy and creativity all year, your first with us).
Thank you to Joelle and Krissia, our altar servers; Vincent, Mark and our tech team; Heather Lloyd and our fabulous musicians; Trent and his maintenance team; and, as ever, Ros Parisi.
Sacred gatherings, in community, could not happen without our dedicated and inspired team of liturgical specialists.
This year our theme has been Communitas and our colour was red. Most of you have managed to retain your ribbons marking our focus for 2023! In a morning rich with symbols I want to focus on what red represents in the context of our theme: it is the colour of love, passion, compassion, care and courage and, our very natures as human beings connected in community. I believe it connects to notions of belonging and ‘ubuntu’ because we know that to connect is to grow, to enable ourselves and others to flourish.
Stay red, keep growing by being women and men for others and remain full of hope for a the coming of our Lord.
I wish you every blessing and a safe and holy Christmas break. Take the time to cherish being with those you love, as Christ did.
Mrs Anna Masters, Principal
