Memories@Merici with John Volpato (Class of 1983)

Perspectives on a co-educational school, that wasn’t really co-educational

It is hard to believe that 39 years ago I came to Braddon as one of 49 intrepid boys who would form the initial intake of males to the school community.

What struck me as incredible at the time, was the sheer size of the Year 12 girls; they all seemed like Giant Amazonian Women to us scrawny 12-year-old boys, almost scary!

Memories@Merici with Nicolette Marks, Class of 2008

Up, Close and Personal with Nicolette Marks

I graduated from Merici in 2008. The values I developed over the six years I attended Merici set me on an incredible path, which exceeded all my expectations. I gained multiple academic qualifications, I studied in Iceland and New Zealand, I was the only Aussie involved in world first research in Antarctica and I have travelled to almost 80 countries. I love exploring and globetrotting, but the strong sense of loyalty and pride Merici instilled in me, always draws me back to Canberra, to my family and community

Student Representation – Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition

Chloe Richard represented Merici College in the Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition from 27-30 April.  There were over 200 riders from across the state and riders competed in a number of disciplines including dressage, show jumping, cross-country, sporting and stock horse classes.  Chloe’s horse Apache is very new to the competition arena so they faced many challenges over the 4 days with their favourite events being cross-country and show jumping.  They came home with 3 second place ribbons and learnt a lot over the duration of the competition.
