Year 7-10 Advent Mass

Our community celebrated Advent on Thursday 5 December with a very special Mass. We were very honoured to welcome our Celebrant, Fr Emil Milat from the Central Canberra parishes and Sr Genny Ryan, one of our Ursuline Sisters whose Order is instrumental to the foundation of Merici and who continue to inspire us today.

College Captains’ Farewell Address to the Community

It is with the utmost privilege that Olivia and I stand before you today to congratulate and farewell the graduating class of 2019. Graduation marks both an ending and a beginning. It is the warm memories of the past but also the big dreams of the future. To our sisters, words can’t describe how proud we are of what you have achieved not only individually, but also as a cohort. As you graduate, don’t forget to thank those who helped you get here. Your teachers, peers, parents, google, Wikipedia, coffee, and copy and paste.

Merici College Green Tip #37 - Something to think about...

The information pictured speaks for itself and gives us all something to think about....

Please recycle your paper and buy recycled Australian paper where possible.  Ask the businesses you support to do the same.

If choosing wood products, ensure that they are from a certified sustainable source such as those verified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

2019 Expressive Arts Showcase

Our 2019 Showcase is a celebration of the artistic gifts and talents of all our students. The subjects highlighted in the exhibition are Dance, Photography, Visual Arts, Media, Music, Vocal and Drama. The ‘Arts’ consists of visual and performing arts and the students presented a very professional and entertaining program. The Merici College Dance Troupe performed wonderful routines that showcase their diversity. The Vocal Group were outstanding as they performed vocal pieces. And the talents of our bands and ensembles has been outstanding this year.

Merici College Green Tip #35 - Want to join the solution to the plastic problem?

We are all very aware of the problems and challenges facing the ecosystems upon which all life depends.

Sometimes this creates feelings of being overwhelmed and not knowing what to do. However solutions are emerging.

Click on the link to discover how Andrew "Twiggy" Forrest, an Australian billionaire and former CEO of Fortescue Metals Group, sees the solution to the plastic problem.

Please take this opportunity to sign up to show your support to encourage companies to make changes.
