Ukraine Appeal - Thank you!

Thank you to our community for supporting our Ukraine Appeal. We have been overwhelmed with the many generous donations received and today our students thoroughly enjoyed ‘planting’ their prayer cards and messages of hope to the Ukraine community. Prayer cards will be given to the officials at the Embassy of Ukraine to pass onto the Ukrainian community. All money raised will be donated to Caritas Ukraine to provide immediate and longer-term humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and to displaced Ukrainians in neighbouring countries.

Seeds of Peace for Ukraine Appeal

Last week, a woman from Ukraine was choosing seeds to grow in her back garden as she prepared for spring. This week she is searching for seeds of hope as she prepares for homelessness. The voice of our collective hearts at Merici College cry out the injustice in Ukraine as we pray for peace and the end to the senseless malicious hostility. We assert our solidarity in faith with our global sisters.

Merici College World Day of Social Justice

As a Catholic school and an IB World School, Merici College has a very strong focus on social justice. Our “Walking in the Shoes of the Other” art installation is an attempt to raise the awareness of the marginalized in our community. It coincides with World Social Justice Day. When we walk in the shoes of another, we empathise with those in need. In doing so we move from focusing on ourselves to look beyond - into the hearts of others.

College Captains Welcome Opening Assembly Address 2022

Welcome Merici Staff and Students. We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling 22, 2022. Like the beloved Taylor Swift, we believe that this year will be an absolute game-changer, filled with more fun, laughs, compassion, self-love, courage, positivity and studying than any other. As your College captains we are hoping that this year will be a spectacular time in your Merici education. We would like to give a very warm welcome to everyone, especially all of our new students who have just commenced their high-school journey with us.
