Balgo House donate Mother's Day gifts for refugees

Over the past 2 weeks, students of Balgo House have been continuing to work in partnership with the Sisters of Mercy, Sr Frances and Sr Angela. To continue with Balgo’s willingness to give to others, Sr Angela and Sr Frances asked if we would be able to collect some small items to contribute to 10 gifts for some refugees from Iraq, for Mother’s Day this weekend. During a Friday morning assembly, Sr Angela and Sr Frances came in to meet with Balgo House to receive the gifts.

Merici College Open Day – Thank you!

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful contribution made by students which, in no small part, contributed to the success of our Open Day. Over 400 students participated in Open Day activities during the day and into the night. The students were all wonderful ambassadors for our school and we have received excellent feedback from all our visitors on your exceptional skills in conducting school tours, participating in classroom activities, and presenting dance and drama performances.

Student Representation – Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition

Chloe Richard represented Merici College in the Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition from 27-30 April.  There were over 200 riders from across the state and riders competed in a number of disciplines including dressage, show jumping, cross-country, sporting and stock horse classes.  Chloe’s horse Apache is very new to the competition arena so they faced many challenges over the 4 days with their favourite events being cross-country and show jumping.  They came home with 3 second place ribbons and learnt a lot over the duration of the competition.
