Creativity is about human expression and communicating deeply. It is a gift where every artist desires to share a glimpse into part of themselves. Merici College celebrates the artistic gifts and talents of our students throughout the year but especially at our annual Showcase Exhibition.

Our students are creative risk takers, they day-dream and work hard to craft the product that tells the story they want to be told in the medium they choose to explain the mystery of life, and the adventure we are all on.

We are continuing our Christian Service Learning Program this year with a Christian Service Week involving all Year 10 students from Monday 20 November to Friday 24 November, 2017 inclusive. Students will be required to volunteer at various agencies throughout the Canberra region.  

Building work is progressing very well with the refurbishment to the Auditorium and Science Labs.

We are currently the proud owners of a very large and very deep hole in the auditorium. It is where the platform lift / orchestra pit is being installed, and will also be the means by which we can store chairs in bulk under the stage. This will free up valuable floor-space in the auditorium itself, as well as solve a number of WHS issues in the process.

Congratulations to our Principal, Loretta Wholley, who has been made a Fellow of ACT Australian Council of Educational Leadership (ACEL).

This week we celebrate National Recycling Week! You can check out Planet Ark’s recycling tips and complete the “Recycle Right” challenge to win some great prizes, http://recyclingweek.planetark.org/.

Merici College congratulates Sr Jane Keogh, who has been named one of the Human Rights Awards finalists for the 2017 Tony Fitzgerald Memorial Community Individual Award. To the graduating class of 2017, on behalf of your teachers, staff and students of Merici College..congratulations. As you embark on the next stage of your journey, remember the 800+ days you have spent here at Merici with fondness. You've listened and learnt, represented the College at various functions, completed assessments, played in sporting teams, sat exams, participated in events, fundraised for charities, celebrated successes, performed at school and community events, given hours and hours in Christian Service to others, cried together and prayed as a community.

Merici College is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Years 11 and 12). Our school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education - that we believe is important for our students.

SAM will be hosting two free workshops for the Merici community to learn how to make beeswax wraps.
