Please keep an eye on your email inbox as the Year 7 and 8 Birrigai excursion consent forms are on their way! This excursion is usually held in Term 1 with Defence students from other schools. However, Birrigai has only just reopened for 2022 and we’ve secured a spot in Term 3 as a Merici Only excursion. It’s a very popular and fun excursion designed to build friendships with other Defence students. Families will be emailed the consent forms this week.
End of Semester Reports
On Friday 1 July, Semester 1 reports will be released through SEQTA. Students will be able to see their reports through SEQTA Learn and parents will be able to access them through SEQTA Engage. Reports will no longer be emailed like in previous years.
If you have not registered your SEQTA Engage for parent access, please go to the school website to register your account.
Today we gather to celebrate the end of the academic calendar in a year of wonders and challenges. We also take this opportunity to recognise the successes, strength, resilience and passion exhibited by our young women in 2021. So much has been achieved, both academically and more broadly, by our students who have had the courage to dream big and to strive to reach for personal and community stars.
Congratulations!
Today our Year 7, 8 and 9 students were treated to a day of fun cultural activities and performances to allow students to appreciate the cultural diversity in our community and society.
In today’s special liturgy the student's encountered the Christmas Story from the Gospels, where the star of Bethlehem inspired the wise men from the East to travel to Jerusalem for the birth of Jesus. In the first reading, the students heard from the Book of Isaiah. Isaiah was a prophet or Messenger of God who lived before the time of Jesus, which is very significant. In this passage they heard about God’s servant who will be supported and loved by God, who will act through the Holy Spirit, who will not be boastful and who will bring justice to the entire world.
We look forward to meeting you and your family in the future. Please stay connected and register your interest for enrolment for 2024 and beyond. We will be in regular communication with families regarding upcoming events.
Please visit www.merici.college to register.
Congratulations to our Co-curricular Sport participants who received their sports awards today.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our students and special thanks to our coaches for their dedication and support.
