Congratulations to Fabrice Boone who recently participated in the USA/Canada Great Divide Mountain Bike Ride (GDMBR) which is the most recognized and important off-pavement cycling route in the United States, if not the world. The route crisscrosses the Continental Divide from north to south starting in Banff, Alberta, Canada and finishing at the US/Mexico border in Antelope Wells, New Mexico. The ride is 4,400km, over 45,000m of climbing, mostly dirt roads, and participants are fully self sufficient. Fabrice did the GDMBR solo over 44 days which started on 6 July, meeting people on his travels. Fabrice proudly noted that he experienced zero punctures and zero mechanical issues (sorry no drama there!) but did come across seven bears. The highlights were the amazing terrain and the Trail Angels (people/lodge owners providing food, drinks and accommodation on the way often for free), a fabulous adventure!
