Today Merici College launched its #preventperiodpanic program and placed dispensers and eco-friendly period products in College bathrooms. This is part of an initiative that four Year 8 students (Ruby Budd, Asha Freeman, Elly Persson and Mia Kelly) made to the Merici Executive to make feminine hygiene products fully accessible for all at our school. This is a small part of their campaign, that feminine hygiene products should be free for all and the girls are now planning to lobby with members of Parliament in the hope that they will consider doing this in all schools and public bathrooms, not only the ACT but the whole of Australia. Congratulations girls on your exceptional stewardship and initiative. We look forward to hearing more about your campaign as it progresses.
