Today marks the beginning of our 67th year as Merici College – a testament to our enduring commitment to Catholic education here in Braddon, and to the vision of the Merici Sisters who laid the foundations we continue to build upon. As we move confidently into 2026 under the theme Fidelitas, we do so with gratitude for our history, hope for our future, and trust in the strength we draw from Christ and from one another.
This year, our College is united under the theme “FIDELITAS” – faithfulness, steadfastness, and commitment to purpose. Inspired by Philippians 4:13, we are reminded that, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” As a Merici community, we are called to walk forward with courage, grounded in faith and trust in God.
As we open the academic year, we celebrate the legacy of those who built this College and the young women who will carry it forward with integrity, hope, and perseverance. May Fidelitas guide our learning, our relationships, and our service to others throughout 2026.
We would like to extend our thanks to Fr Renoir for celebrating Mass and our invited guests. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to our Merici Choir and Mr Byron Luck, Mrs Veronica Harrold-Carter and all our mass participants, the Maintenance staff, Canteen staff and Administration staff for their valued contribution to the organisation of such a successful celebration.
