This week we are proud to introduce Mrs Jen Baines, LOTE Coordinator.
Jen has been at Merici for 7 years and in the role of LOTE Coordinator for 2 years. Prior to Merici College, she taught in Singapore and Shanghai, China. Having grown up in a multilingual environment and educated in a bilingual system, Jen is a strong believer in the importance of language acquisition. She believes that acquiring another language allows us to gain in-depth intercultural understanding. Jen is committed to providing opportunities to students to explore and deepen their curiosity about different cultures. Her goal for 2022 is to encourage more Year 10 students to continue their language studies in Year 11 and 12 in both the BSSS and IB DP Programmes.
