GH Nutrition Workshop

Merici College students were blessed to have Georgia Houston from GH Nutrition to share her expertise around building a healthy relationship with food and body image. Georgia spoke about how we could change what we see on social media. Some examples are below.

 

• Post a mix of photos on social media:

• Show your personality

• Post artistic shots

• Post images of you having fun or visiting cool places

• Post comments on friends photos that compliment features of the photo, not their physical appearance i.e. instead of " you look stunning" try "I love your creativity and ability to create beautiful images" or " you are such a good friend, I'm always laughing when you 're around" Respond to negative comments with supportive comments.

 

Georgia also gave the girls some ideas around snacks to keep them fuelled through out the day with a focus on nutrients that girls should be mindful of. She suggested the girls pack their lunch the night before in case they sleep in. See some of Georgia’s tips in the images below.
