Today marks the beginning of DonateLife Week 2025 and a significant milestone—50 years of organ donation in the Territory.
At this morning’s official launch held at Merici College, Minister for Health Rachel Stephen-Smith announced that the ACT Government has named a street in the suburb of Macnamara ‘Annette Street’, in honour of Annette Taylor, the first organ donor in the ACT.
For us at Merici, this is especially moving, as we remember our Merici sister, Annette Taylor. Her decision to become an organ donor changed the lives of two people and paved the way for countless life-saving donations over the past five decades.
