Merici College held their book week during Week 5, simply so the seniors could get involved and not miss out with Year 12 Tertiary students having AST. The theme this year was Symphony of Stories. Early Term 3 the Book Week Committee was established and together we organised a week of festivities and fun.
Monday was the annual Cake Decorating competition with some amazing creations. The school voted, and for the Most Creative category we give our congratulations to Matilda and Lola with the Alice in Wonderland in first place and Mackenzie in second place with the Wonka Bar. In the category of Symphony of Stories: Saanjh was first with her Musical Books and Abigail and Sonny second with their Performance of Symphony of Stories.
Tuesday was Trivia in the TLC – the seniors took out the prizes for first and second with the Year 9’s; Olivia, Alice, Tilly, Lucy and Claudia coming a close third.
Wednesday was a Quiz held in morning Pastoral Care; well done to Tullow 7 for guessing the most correct teachers to match their favourite book.
On Thursday, Grace from Seiwa made a beautiful Symphony of Stories cake that we shared during Cosy Café.
