Merici College is proud to celebrate the achievements of Neve Larsen, our 2024 Sustainability Captain, who received a Highly Commended recognition for the 2024 Environment and Sustainability Award. Neve was also honoured as a nominee for the Young Canberra Citizen of the Year.

In curriculum news, we have been working on what is known as the Fine-Grained Curriculum which is aimed at ensuring that all students have access to the same curriculum, lesson-by-lesson. We have also been busy implementing the Catalyst Program which is designed to deliver high-impact lessons using the Science of Learning and Cognitive Load Theory.

As 2024 draws to a close, the Languages Department has proudly celebrated a year of linguistic and cultural explorations.  From mastering new vocabulary to experiencing firsthand a country’s intricate ways of living, our students have done us proud.

The HPE Department has had an exceptionally busy year, offering a diverse range of programs and activities for all year groups.

As English teachers we believe that the study of literature plays an important role in our students finding and articulating their hopes. We believe that literature can serve as windows of possibility for our students, offering them the chance to examine a wide range of human experience and understand the potential for human progress.

Our inaugural year as Design and Technology was filled with excitement and renewed enthusiasm in all subject areas.

We are pleased to advise that the Merici College Uniform Shop will be offering extended hours to meet your uniform requirements for 2025.

The Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) Department at Merici College has long been a beacon of innovation, imagination, and talent, and this year has only solidified that reputation.
