Recently, I read a fascinating article on the ABC News app in relation to the development of language. Essentially, the article posited that language is forever changing and that currently, the greatest single driver of this change is in fact young women and girls.

The Year in Sustainability
Merici College is proud to celebrate the achievements of Neve Larsen, our 2024 Sustainability Captain, who received a Highly Commended recognition for the 2024 Environment and Sustainability Award. Neve was also honoured as a nominee for the Young Canberra Citizen of the Year.

The Year in Mathematics
In curriculum news, we have been working on what is known as the Fine-Grained Curriculum which is aimed at ensuring that all students have access to the same curriculum, lesson-by-lesson. We have also been busy implementing the Catalyst Program which is designed to deliver high-impact lessons using the Science of Learning and Cognitive Load Theory.
