Celebrating Grandparents Day at Merici

Celebrating Grandparents Day at Merici College!

Wednesday 26 July was a heart-warming day as our Year 7 girls warmly welcomed their beloved grandparents to Merici College. It was an occasion filled with love, laughter, and appreciation for the special role grandparents play in our lives. The day began with a beautiful liturgy dedicated to celebrating the unique and cherished bond between grandparents and grandchildren. We honoured the wisdom, love, and guidance they generously share with us.

Student Achievement - Questacon Student Training Programme

Congratulations to Ella Hawkes and Caelan Edghill in Year 11 who last night graduated from the Questacon Student Training Programme. They completed 58 hours of training across 12 weeks, including spending the bulk of the July school holidays volunteering at Questacon as science communicators. It was a huge accomplishment for them to be recognised and they certainly represented Merici with pride! Congratulations! #mericipride #empoweringindependence

Year 10 Transitions Forum and Reflection Day

During Week 10 of Term 2, our Year 10 students attended their 2023 Transitions Forum. This was an important week for Year 10 as students considered how to make decisions, reflected on what is important in life, prepared for senior study, and much more.

Throughout the week the students participated in ‘Day of Hope’ on Monday which was a full day presentation with Glenn Gerreyn from the Hopeful Institute, Sydney. He concentrated on goals and motivation and had students on the edge of their seats with his inspirational words.

Merici College Vinnies Sleepout 2023

A huge thanks to all our students and staff who participated in the Vinnies School Sleepout last night. It was a night of solidarity and compassion where our girls braved the cold and wet weather. By 'sleeping out' the girls helped to raise awareness and support for the homeless in our community. We would like to extend our special thanks and appreciation to Teah, one of the Vinnies School Engagement workers for her presentation on homelessness and supporting the girls throughout the night!
