We would like to thank all our guests and the Merici College Defence families for attending our ANZAC Assembly today. We would like to acknowledge the valued contributions of the Catafalque Party, Musician Dave Leaders, Lance Corporal Aaron Passfield, Merici Vocal Group and the Canteen staff.
Special thanks and appreciation are extended to Capt Kate Ryan RAN for being our guest speaker.
Today, Wednesday 27 April, Merici College held a very special Anzac Assembly. The assembly provided the community with the opportunity to pause and remember the men and women who have served in Australia’s Defence Force, honouring their memory. In particular we celebrated our theme Serving our Community. It was an honour to welcome our guest speaker, Captain Kate Ryan, Royal Australian Navy. Captain Ryan entered the Royal Australian Navy via ADFA in 1990 and trained as a Maritime Warfare Officer.

Today our community celebrated The Way of the Cross in a COVID safe style. Each year group moved around the school, reflecting on the Stations of the Cross. We reflected on the significance of each Station and how this relates to our contemporary world today.
Thank you to all our community for supporting our #GiftofLife #DonateLifeWalk this morning. A big thank you to Ned and Josh from Canberra FM Radio for broadcasting their Breakfast Show live from Merici, helping us to spread the message about Gift of Life. Take the next step… and register to be a donor. Register to become and organ and tissue donor at www.donatelife.gov.au.
