Merici offers a wide range of sporting, cultural, community service, creative and outdoor activities for students. To encourage student participation, an Activities Expo is held each year which provides students with the opportunity to investigate and enrol in any of the activities. The Canberra Environment Centre has some wonderful workshops on offer, including baking sourdough, identifying and cooking with weeds, backyard bee-keeping and heaps more.

Dance Troupe @ National Multicultural Fair
Our Merici Dance Troupe performed at the Multicultural Festival on Friday night, 17 February. The community vibe and support was absolutely amazing and we would like to thank the organisers for the opportunity to be involved in this special event.

You can recycle soft plastics at Coles
Supermarket in Canberra??
Coles has partnered with REDcycle to collect plastic that can’t be recycled at home.
You can take in your soft plastic, such as plastic bags, plastic food wrapping, snap lock bags, which is used to create furniture for schools, preschools and community groups.

Year 7 students hit the ground running with sustainability

At Merici, we pride ourselves on our culture of sustainability, which pervades life at the College. This week, our new Year 7 students participated in workshops during their Integrated Humanities classes where they learned about our three-bin waste management system, our Flick the Switch campaign, and our student environment group, SAM. A big thank you to Year 12 SAM legends Julia2 (Julia Page and Julia Heather) for helping to facilitate the activities.

Dance Troupe in our Community
