Ever wished Macbeth had a fun, ‘Hannah-Montana-obsessed’ pop star little sister? Ask and you shall receive… but be careful what you wish for!
On Wednesday, 16 September at 7:00pm, Senior Drama will be channelling their inner number one pop girl, performing scenes from Yve Blake’s Mackenzie. This acclaimed Australian play charts the meteoric rise of ambitious 2000s child star Mackenzie, at times macabre, but always iconic. After all, its Mackenzie’s World, we’re just living in it.
Content Warning: Mackenzie explores mature themes including ambition, fame, the exploitation and pressures experienced by young performers, unhealthy parent–child dynamics, and the darker consequences of the pursuit of success. The play contains dark humour, macabre elements, risqué material and some strong language. Recommended age: 15+ or with parental guidance
