Australian schools send 3,767 tonnes of material to landfills each year, even though a lot of it can be recycled.

What goes in the blue bin at Merici?

1. Clean paper
2. Clean cardboard, preferably flattened

NO PAPER TOWEL OR PLASTIC PLEASE.

What goes in the yellow bin?

1. glass bottles and jars – clean and empty
2. plastic bottles and containers – clean, empty and lids removed
3. steel and aluminium cans – clean and empty
4. paper – not shredded
5.  cardboard – flattened
