Wishing you a safe, happy and low waste Christmas!
When decorating consider…
So much joy can come from Christmas decorations, as well as a lot of waste.
Consider switching to LED lights that use less energy, and cut down on plastic decorations, tinsel and baubles that break easily and end up in landfill.
Instead, swap for biodegradable materials like paper and wood. Paper tinsel exists and can be easily personalised with a bit of creativity.
When eating consider…
While leftovers can be a bonus, some foods don’t keep long, and Australians discard over 25% of their food during the festive period. Plan your meals wisely and make less of foods that won’t last.
Ditch the plastic utensils and plates. They may make cleaning up a breeze, but these single use items sent to landfill are detrimental to our environment.
