Last Friday, 7 November, the 2025 Sustainability Captain, Rebecca Price, was awarded Young Canberra Citizen of the Year in the Environment and Sustainability category.

Rebecca has been a dedicated member of SAM (Sustainability at Merici) since she was in Year 7.
Her achievements this year have been many but include setting up a “Hard-to-Recycle” station, and the establishment of an Inter-School Sustainability Council to raise sustainability communication and outcomes across ACT schools.
Well done and well deserved.
