Did you know that eating seasonal produce is better for your wallet, the environment and your health?
Your wallet: Seasonal produce is cheaper because the costs of producing it are lower (because plants require less time, labour and intervention from humans to grow efficiently when the season is on their side!).
The environment: Eating fruits and vegetables that are in season locally means that food doesn’t have to travel as far to get on your plate, reducing the emissions associated with transporting that produce.
Your health: Because seasonal produce doesn’t have to travel as far, it’s fresher and therefore retains more nutrients by the time it gets to your plate.
