This is your chance to shine! The Friends of the Australian National Botanic Gardens 25th annual photographic competition is now open for school and college students to encourage young people to express their appreciation of Australian native plants through artistic creativity.

Merici College offers School Counselling on campus throughout the school year and is delivered by qualified mental health professionals with experience working with young people who have mental health concerns.

Recently, I read a fascinating article on the ABC News app in relation to the development of language. Essentially, the article posited that language is forever changing and that currently, the greatest single driver of this change is in fact young women and girls.

If you have to wait for your water to heat up in the shower or bath, collect it in a bucket to use in your garden! 

The weekly Green Tip is intended to share ideas about how you can reduce your environmental footprint at school, home and work.

As we kick off the new school year, we want to extend a warm welcome to both returning and new students! We hope you have had a restful and summer holiday break. Whether you’re excited about the year ahead or feeling a little nervous, it’s normal to experience a mix of emotions as you settle back into school life.

Please remember to rethink, reduce, re-use, recycle and repurpose to minimise waste.

The lead up to Christmas is also an important time to remember that every dollar we spend is a vote for the world that we want.

A reminder not to use plastic straws.

For every item that is brought into the ACT, greenhouse gas emissions are produced.  

These countries do not have the infrastructure to manage the waste that comes with tourism which is creating a substantial plastic waste problem.
