Are you interested in crafts and sustainability? Try out some visible mending!

Fast fashion is inexpensive, so when clothes become worn or damaged it can seem easiest to simply replace them.

As a result, 92 million tonnes of textile waste is burnt or ends up in landfill every year. To combat this, you could try visible mending!

There are many types of visible mending, but one of the most popular is inspired by sashiko, a 400-year-old Japanese folk embroidery. This type of visible mending is characterised by repeated running stitches that strengthen clothing items, add decorative geometric patterns, and repair holes!
