We would like to thank our Dance Troupe students for their participation in many community events throughout the year. Girls, your enthusiasm and dedication in celebrating special events with our community has been amazing. You have been excellent ambassadors for Merici College!
A special Music Presentation Night was held on Thursday 23 November to recognise the efforts and achievements of our students who have participated in Merici's Music Program. We would like to thank our students for enriching our school culture and community.
Merici College celebrates the artistic gifts and talents of our students throughout the year but especially at our annual Showcase Exhibition. Our students are creative risk takers, they day-dream and work hard to craft the product that tells the story they want to be told in the medium they choose to explain the mystery of life, and the adventure we are all on.The subjects highlighted at our exhibition this year are Dance, Photography, Visual Arts, Music, Fashion and Media.
On Tuesday 2 May, the students and staff of Ningil House celebrated the inaugural Ningil House Feast Day. The day began with prayer and reflection in Morning PC, where the formation of the Ningil Mission in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, as well as what it means to be a member of Ningil House today, were referenced. Later in the day, the House celebrated through reciting the House prayer, singing a rousing rendition of “I’m a Ningil House Kid” and sharing cake in what proved to be a most joyous atmosphere.
We hope all our Year 10 students and guests enjoyed the evening.
The theme for this year’s Book Week is Escape to Everywhere. At Merici we have had a world of fun. The iC became the Swamp with Shrek and Fiona, joined by a range of characters from various fairy tales and books escaping to the swamp. Throughout the week there have been quizzes in Pastoral Care, lunch time Scavenger Hunts, culminating today with the Dress Up Parade.
