Student Achievement - Young Women Speak Out (YWSO) Program

Young Women Speak Out (YWSO) is an advocacy and campaigning program for young women. The program consists of two practical workshops to assist a group of six young women to design a progressive advocacy project or campaign on an issue important to the group. The workshops are followed by resourcing, mentoring and support to drive a campaign for change!
Duke of Edinburgh Student Experiences and Reflections
Submitted by mericiadmin on August 31, 2017 - 9:32amThe Bush Prac weekends are designed to extend the navigation and survival skills of the Duke of Edinburgh participants and act as the practice journey towards their Bronze Award. Two weekends were held this year out at Wee Jasper, NSW. A number of new Marist and Merici students participated in hiking, river crossings and survival scenarios. They were joined by a number of older students who helped to run the weekend. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who make these adventures possible!
ACT Netball Champions

We congratulate our students on their achievements and thank them for being exemplary representatives of the College.

'Stop Fear Spread Hope' Domestic Violence Awareness Exhibition
Thanks and appreciation are extended to all students from Merici College and Marist College who participated in the 'Stop Fear Spread Hope' Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign and Art Exhibition.
We congratulate the following students who were awarded special prizes at the Exhibition.

Family Art from the HeART Workshops
We would like to thank our families who participated in the Family Art Workshops. The program was very successful, giving our families an opportunity to make a lasting memento of their year at Merici. The event ran over two workshops: Thursday 3 August (Workshop 1: Development) and Thursday 17 August (Workshop 2: Completion of Work) with families creating wonderful art pieces.

Here are the stats:
In 2014 we only recycled 24% of our waste. This number has increased every year and now we currently recycle over 50% of our waste!

2016 - 43%
2017 - 50%
