This week is International Compost Awareness Week.
It is a week of activities and events to improve awareness of the importance of compost as a valuable organic resource.
Composting reduces carbon and methane pollution while regenerating the soil, benefitting water sources,
and fostering food security into the future.
The organic materials that can be composted include yard trimmings, leaves, mulch, grass clippings,
some paper products, and food scraps such as raw and cooked fruits,
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Mrs Ivi Ward has entered into eternal life. Mrs Ward was a dedicated and valued teacher at Merici College from 1988 to 2003 and touched the lives of many students and staff. Our sincere condolences to the Ward and Praks families. May perpetual life shine upon her and may she rest in love.

Today our community commemorated ANZAC Day, Flying into a New Era: 100 Years of the Royal Australian Air Force. We would like to thank all our guests and the Merici College Defence families for attending our ANZAC Assembly. We would like to acknowledge the valued contributions of the Catafalque Party, Musician Dave Leaders, Sgt James Duquemin, Merici College’s Choir, the Canteen staff, Special thanks and appreciation is extended to Air Commodore Jason Agius CSC, OAM for being our guest speaker.
This is different to World Environment Day held in June and recognises that Earth and its ecosystems are our home,
and it is essential to achieve harmony with biodiversity, animals and the Earth's living, life supporting systems.

On Thursday 1 April, our community reflected on the significance of Easter by exploring the Stations of the Cross and other important aspects. On behalf of the staff at Merici College, I wish our community a very Holy and Blessed Easter.

Today the Merici College community reflected on the significance of Easter by exploring the Stations of the Cross and other important aspects of Holy Week in the Easter Liturgy. The liturgy was completely student-focussed with approximately 50 students leading all elements. it was a beautiful liturgy and we would like to thank all our students for their reverence and reflection.
