Merici students unite in hope in China
Submitted by mericiadmin on April 6, 2017 - 11:13amAs I write this update, our students in China are getting ready to visit the Great Wall!
All is going well with our intrepid Language students as they undertake Merici’s first trip to China, as you can see from the happy snaps from recent days.
I hear Mrs Preston is busy making poppies for our Anzac Ceremony so it’s lovely to see wherever we are in the world, we are united as the Merici Community.
Easter Liturgy
On Monday 3 April, the Merici College community reflected on the significance of Easter by exploring the Stations of the Cross and other important aspects of Holy Week in the Easter Liturgy. The liturgy was completely student-focussed with approximately 50 students leading all elements.
We wish our community a very Holy and safe Easter.

Merici Students Set Off for China!
Submitted by mericiadmin on April 3, 2017 - 7:57amOn Saturday 1st of April nearly two years of preparation by Mrs Jen Baines and Mrs Corinne Preston came to fruition as eight of the nine Merici students and their families gathered at the Jolimont Centre in Civic (the ninth student was already in Sydney!). A total of nine Chinese students from Years 9 to 12 are now on their way on Merici’s first Study Tour of China! The amazing teacher team has travelled together before, to Japan last year, so the students are in good hands. The Chinese students will undertake a 20-day Study Tour of China.

Earth Hour for Schools was held at Merici College on Friday 24 March. We were very pleased to welcome Minister Shane Rattenbury who joined with students and staff to make a "hand print" pledge to reduce their energy consumption. Minister Rattenbury also visited our kitchen garden and spoke to our Sustainabilty at Merici team about sustainability initiatives and strategies currently in place at the College.
