This week we will be participating in R U OK? Day on Thursday, 9 September which is a national day of action where Australians are reminded that every day is the day to ask, “are you okay?” if someone they know is struggling. Whilst working in lockdown, checking in on one another’s wellbeing is more important than ever.
The Book Week Committee has worked very hard to prepare activities to celebrate Book Week, Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. It has been an amazing week-long celebration about books, illustrators, characters and authors. Along with daily PC quizzes, the week’s schedule has been jam-packed with activities:
We would like to express our HUGE thanks and appreciation to all our school community for participating in our Book Week 2021. We have been overwhelmed with amazing images of dress-up costumes for the past, cakes that have been created inspired by the Book Week theme 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds' or inspired by books we all love. Our dress-up has been fantastic today, so very creative! Thanks again everyone! #mericipride

We would like to thank our community for supporting our musical, Roald Dahl's Matilda Jr. A very big thanks to all our students who were exceptional, dedicated, energetic and optimistic. They wowed their audiences and will have forged life-long memories and friendships by being involved and brave enough to perform for all. What a wonderful showcase of the talents of our young women and example of the strength of the performing arts at Merici College.
The Merici College Auditorium was filled by the smell of rebellion when the College presented four shows of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. Based on the beloved book “Matilda” by Roald Dahl and adapted from the award-winning full-length musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
