As part of this recruitment, the Defence Force Academy choose the best students to recognise for their performance in the recruitment process.
Bridge Benefit Fundraising Dinner
We would like to thank our community members who supported our Bridge Benefit Fundraising Dinner on Saturday 14 September in the Merici College Bridge Restaurant. This event is a student-led initiative and is in its fifth year of running with all proceeds to be donated to Barnardos Canberra. We would also like to thank our sponsors who generously donated items for our silent auction.

“Fathers are pivotal in their daughter’s lives. Fathers are very powerful at establishing values for their girls. Values such as trust, respect, honesty, integrity, racism and generosity. Modelling is the best way to demonstrate these values. Remember she is watching you!

Our community celebrated this milestone at a very special Mass where we reflected on our past, present and future journey from Canberra Catholic Girls’ High School in 1959, to Merici College in 2019 and beyond.
We were very honoured to welcome our Principal Celebrant for the celebration; His Grace, Archbishop Christopher Prowse, and Concelebrating were Bishop Pat Power, Monsignor John Woods and Fr Bernie Patterson together with Fr Emil Milat, Fr Kieran Adams & Fr Paul Nulley from the Central Canberra parishes.

Father/Daughter Mass and Dinner
Our annual Father/Daughter dinner was held on Friday 30 August. The evening commenced with a very special Mass celebrated by Father Bernie Patterson and followed with a wonderful meal prepared by our Senior Hospitality students. We also welcomed Mrs Patricia Falcetta from Social Living and is a Family Joy Expert who spoke about the special relationship that fathers share with their daughters. Patricia also runs positive menstrual health education workshops and workshops for fathers as well called Fathers Celebrating Daughters.
