The Year 9 RE Christian Service Learning Program enjoyed a visit to Goodwin Homes.The girls spent the morning assisting residents and staff with the morning program of games, artwork, tea break and sharing memories.
Year 9 Urban Challenge - Student Reflection

Amidst selfies with dogs and never-ending barbeque line-ups Year 9 had heaps of fun but also learnt about the importance of teamwork and co-operation. Each team role was challenging in its own way and everyone had to work together to reach each day’s goals. It also taught us how to work in a group with people that we did not necessarily know.
SEDA, ACT Cricket and Sydney Thunder visit Merici College

Spring is in full swing in Canberra and there are lots of bees buzzing around helping to pollinate our plants!
However, bee populations are under serious threat from habitat destruction and pesticides which the puts the future of food production under stress.
To support native bees, you can plant “bee-friendly” species such as basil, rosemary, lemons, chillies, eucalypts and foxglove.

Submitted by mericiadmin on October 23, 2017 - 10:21amIn Term 3, Year 7 students visited Cotter Dam for an excursion that arose as a collaboration between Integrated Humanities and Integrated Maths and Science. Students looked at the Cotter and surrounds from a number of perspectives, learning about and examining links between the history, geography, ecology, water chemistry and water management of the area.
Year 8 Reflection Day "Life of Love"
Year 8 participated in a Reflection Day on Thursday 19 October at the College with the theme "Life of Love". During the day the students were reminded they are held gently in the palm of God’s hand, there are times that their hearts need to be renewed and that they need to ask for forgiveness for the times they have not been completely loving. During the afternoon liturgy, the students had an opportunity to reflect on their actions and they were motivated to start afresh – with a renewed heart.
