ENROL NOW FOR 2018 AND BEYOND!
We have some exciting news from the Physical Education Department at Merici College. We have bikes!
In the July school break, I was fortunate to present at Korero in Queenstown NZ. Korero is a Maori word for Conversation. This was a Conference like no other, there were no keynote speakers charging significant fees to sell us an idea or product, but rather was a series of workshops presented by Principals for Principals in the Catholic Secondary Schools sector. There were over 100 Principals from New Zealand and Australia in attendance.
The Mathematics staff are excited to be back for Semester Two, 2017.
The semester has gotten off to a cracking start with over one hundred students from Years 7-12 participating in this year’s Australian Mathematics Competition. Held on the Thursday and Friday of Week 2, the competition challenged students with increasingly complex problems covering a broad range of mathematical disciplines. The girls came out of the competition buzzing about which questions were tricky, what they tried and what they would do differently in the future.
Here is our green tip for the week:
How is Merici College going with our recycling?
Here are the stats:
In 2014 we only recycled 24% of our waste. This number has increased every year and now we currently recycle over 50% of our waste!
2014 - 24%
2015 - 31%
2016 - 43%
2017 - 50%
Keep up the good work!
