Principal's Address 2024
Good evening and welcome all. My name is Anna Masters and I am blessed to be Principal of Merici College, a dynamic learning environment that was established over 65 years ago.
St Angela Merici Day Award
Special thanks to all our House Coordinators, House Captains and Vice Captains for their extraordinary planning and facilitation of all the House events and activities.
We hope all our students and staff had a wonderful day celebrating the Feast Day of St Angela Merici.
On Friday 31 May, our College community celebrated the Feast Day of St Angela Merici. In 2024, our journey at Merici College is guided by the profound theme of "Spes," meaning hope - a beacon that shines brightly as we commemorate the feast Day of Saint Angela Merici and 65 years of Catholic education in Braddon. Anchored in the timeless wisdom of St. Angela, we embrace hope as our steadfast companion, echoing the biblical assurance, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" (Hebrews 6:19).
As it gets cooler, there are multiple instances of heaters at school being turned up as high as they can go, and even left on overnight as high as 27 degrees overnight.
Please:
Regularly check that heaters are set no higher than 22 degrees

Monday 20th of May was World Bee Day.
We all can contribute to the preservation of bees and other pollinators:
Plant nectar-bearing flowers for decorative purposes on balconies, terraces, and gardens.
Buy only Australian made honey and hive products.
Raise awareness among children and adolescents on the importance of bees and express your support for beekeepers.
On Tuesday 21 May, Merici College hosted an international delegation attending the Current of Grace Conference in Canberra. Mrs Masters welcomed the delegates warmly and Mrs Harrold-Carter explored ways that Merici College employs the four phase model of Youth Ministry . Our students showcased the CSYMI program, starting with engaging ice breakers and role plays. They shared personal testimonies and recounted their experiences as members of the ACU Academy programme. The activities were structured around the CPR model of youth ministry—Connection, Proclamation, and Response.
