Kirbi Ison, Class of 2002
The word that best describes my experience at Merici College is BELONGING. I felt that I found a place I could be myself, continue following my dreams and still feel a connection to the school through all the changes.
After completing Year 12, I undertook a gap year working at a summer camp in San Diego, USA, then Completed a Bachelor of Performance, Theory & Practice (Dance Studies) and Master of Teaching (Secondary). I also had another gap year working at a summer camp in San Diego and have taught in various high schools in Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Sydney and Newcastle. I am currently a permanent Dance & PDHPE teacher at Callaghan College, Wallsend Campus in Newcastle, married with a new little baby.
