Year 9 Textiles recently went to the Craft Fair to look at the beautiful patchwork quilts on display and participate in some of the many workshops offered at the fair. This was organised for the girls to gain inspiration for their own quilted patchwork project that they have started for this semesters unit of work ‘We’ve got you covered’. We also visited the Australian War Memorial to look at the beautiful Changi Quilts made by the women in termed in the Changi prison during World War II and looked into the stories behind their designs and a bit of the history behind patchwork quilting. It was an enjoyable, inspiring, informative and interesting day for all.
