On Thursday 23 November, a joint excursion was held with students from Merici College and Canberra Girls Grammar. At the excursion, the students participated in different sessions to learn more about Chinese culture. The various sessions are Taichi, making dumpling, playing Guzheng (an ancient Chinese instrument) and dressing up in Qipao (a signature Chinese dress) and also did a simple dramatization of Mulan in ancient Chinese costumes.
This is the first time we had a joint excursion with students from another school who are also learning Mandarin. I would like to have such excursions more often in the future so our students will have a chance to interact with other students.
