Vale Christine Fraser

Funeral arrangements for Christine (Chris) Fraser, former teacher of Merici College

A celebration of Chris’s life will take place at St Monica’s Catholic Church, 18 Defell Street Evatt on Saturday 1 February, 2020 commencing at 11am. Current and past students are invited to form a guard of honour at the conclusion of the Mass. Current students are also invited to wear their Summer Merici College uniform to the service. We strongly advise parents/guardians to accompany their daughter(s).

In Memory of Christine Fraser

It is with absolute sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the death of our beloved colleague, Christine (Chris) Fraser.

Chris died peacefully this afternoon, Monday 27 January 2020, after a long battle with cancer (which she fought with great integrity and tenacity) at Clare Holland House.

Chris was a teacher at Merici College for 35 years – she taught Integrated Humanities, Religious Education, History, English and Maths. One her passions was tennis (we will be dedicating the tennis courts in her honour).

Captains' Welcome

Welcome, Merici sisters, staff, and families to the 2020 school year. We hope that all of you have had a restful holiday and are eager to get back into school life. We especially welcome our Year 7s, new students and staff to the College; we cannot wait for you to meet the rest of our Merici College family. We are super excited for the year ahead and are thrilled to start listening and collaborating on everyone’s ideas. We are incredibly blessed to have a strong leadership team for 2020.

Merici College Green Tip #40 - End of Year Message

It has been a very busy and successful year for sustainability action at Merici, culminating in recognition by the ACT government through the ACTsmart schools programme as the 2019 Sustainable School of the Year.

At this time of year the regular Green Tip readers will know already to think carefully about what you buy in order to minimise demand on resources and waste.  If you need to remind yourself, see this link from Planet Ark. Enjoy!
