Merici College Green Tip #24 - Parliament of Youth Speech Part 1

Full article here.

At the end of Term 2, the SAM (Sustainability At Merici) team and Year 9 Sustainability students participated in the Parliament of Youth, with our Year 7’s winning in their category.

Anna Garnock, the Coordinator of the Parliament of Youth, made such an inspiring speech in her closing presentation, that I have asked for her permission to share some excerpts with you.

Merici College Musical, Roald Dahl's Matilda Jr.

The Merici College Auditorium was filled by the smell of rebellion when the College presented four shows of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. Based on the beloved book “Matilda” by Roald Dahl and adapted from the award-winning full-length musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Academic Awards Semester 1 2021 and 2022 Scholarships

We entend our congratulations to all our students for their academic achievements throughout Semester 1, 2021.

Today we gathered as a community to congratulate and celebrate students who have a high level of academic achievement across all subjects and students who were recognised by their teachers in individual subjects in Semester 1.  Year 7 students received awards for the first time which always bring some extra excitement.

Merici College Green Tip #21 - It's just one packet of chips ....

Please click here to find the full article.

It may be "just one packet of chips" that ends up in the lunchbox, and it is so convenient.

However, when multiplied by the number of students, then by the number of days in term, then over a year, then multiplied by the number of schools in the ACT, then across Australia....you get the picture.  Truly staggering.

Grandparents Day

Thank you to all our grandparents and special loved ones for attending Grandparent’s Day 2021 at Merici College! Our students and staff were very excited to have you here sharing this very special occasion with your grandchild.

We welcome the grandparents who have travelled a great distance to be here and wish you a safe journey back home. We keep in our thoughts and prayers those who would love to be a part of today but cannot due to COVID-19 restrictions.
